Sources of BTFP Fund

Sources of BTFP fund can be divided into four accounts based on capital source and spending type according to the law as follows:

Account No.1 “Account for Broadcasting and Telecommunications Research and Development Fund for Public Interest” which constitutes of initial fund given by the government, revenue from spectrum auctioning for broadcasting and television services, funding from NBTC revenue appropriations as per Section 53 of the Act on Organization to Assign Radio Frequency and to Regulate the Broadcasting and Telecommunications Services B.E. 2553 (2010) and the laws relating to broadcasting and television services and telecommunication service, BTFP profits and revenue and any other assets owned by BTFP. This account can be used for every purpose stipulated in Section 52.

Account No. 2 “Account for Universal Service Supply for Broadcasting and Television Services Fund” which constitutes of funding according to the law relating to broadcasting and television services. This account shall be used for the provision of universal service supply for broadcasting and television services.

Account No.3 “Account for Universal Service Supply for Telecommunications Service Fund” which constitutes of funding according to the law relating to telecommunication services. This account shall be used for the provision of universal service supply for telecommunication services.

Account No. 4 “Account for Universal Service Supply for Broadcasting and Telecommunication Services Fund (Transferred Account)” which constitutes of the amount transferred from the Account for Broadcasting and Telecommunications Research and Development Fund for Public Interest (Original Fund) and shall be used for the provision of universal service supply for broadcasting and telecommunications services, including supporting local communities and community-level entrepreneurs as per Section 51 of the Act on Organization to Assign Radio Frequency and to Regulate the Broadcasting and Telecommunications Services B.E. 2553 (2010).
