“Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Labour” Thailand and Singapore increase labour cooperation.


     Labour Ministry Permanent Secretary attended a conference on tripartism for sustainable development with over 800 tri-party representatives from 14 countries to celebrate Singapore’s National Day and met with Mr. Loh Khum Yean, Permanent Secretary of Singapore’s Labour Ministry to strengthen relationship and labour cooperation.

     On 26 October 2015, Labour Ministry Permanent Secretary ML Boontarik Smithi along with the Director of the Bureau of International Cooperation and Labour Office in Singapore attended the International Forum on Tripartism - Tripatism for Sustainable Growth and Development at Devan Nair Institute for Employment and Employability in Singapore following the invitation from Singapore’s Ministry of Labour to celebrate Singapore’s 50th National Day and its membership in the International Labour Organization (ILO) with more than 800 tri-party representatives from 14 countries joining the event.
         
     In this forum, Mr. Guy Rider, ILO Chief Director, delivered the keynote speech and discussed with Singapore’s tri-party representatives. Additionally, senior representatives from Barbados, Denmark, Ireland, Japan, and Singapore exchanged experience on how to strengthen tripartism for sustainable growth and development.
         
     In the afternoon, the Permanent Secretary met and discussed with Mr. Loh Khum Yean, Singapore’s Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Labour, to strengthen relationship and labour cooperation between Thailand’s and Singapore’s Ministry of Labours.
