Office of the NBTC Hopes to Drive Thailand’s Digital Economy by Organizing “NET 2015” from August 6-9 at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center to Support National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Business Development
The Office of the NBTC gave green light to support investment in broadcasting and telecommunications industry by organizing NET 2015, one of the country’s largest communication innovation expo, from August 6-9, 2015 at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.
Air Chief Marshal Thares Punsri, NBTC Chairman, stated that the Office of the NBTC had already deployed national broadcasting and telecommunications infrastructure development in hope to drive the country’s economic development through broadcasting and telecommunications infrastructure investment, allowing countless communication technology and innovations to be introduced and adopted among various industries with the aim to drive Thailand’s digital economy.
NBTC Chairman further mentioned that this year NBTC organizes “NBTC EXPO THAILAND 2015 (NET 2015)” under the concept of “Future Trend in Digital World” from August 6-9, 2015 at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center with the aim to share spectrum management knowledge and regulate the broadcasting and telecommunications industry. The event introduced numerous latest communication technology and innovations that will be launched in the future, demonstrating the potential of Thailand’s broadcasting and telecommunications industry. The opening ceremony was kindly chaired by M.R. Pridiyathorn Devakula, Deputy Prime Minister, who also gave a keynote speech on “Digital Economy and Thailand’s Development.”
According to Mr. Takorn Tantasith, Secretary-General of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC Secretary-General), “NBTC EXPO THAILAND 2015 (NET 2015)” was divided into five different zones including 1. Digital Economy which mainly focuses on the policies and projects carried out by government sector in driving Thailand’s digital economy, 2. Digital Community which mainly aims to introduce future technologies and hi-tech lifestyle through a short film produced by private business sector, 3. Mobile World which mainly focuses on displaying exhibitions and mobile phone innovations as well as the spectrums allocated for upcoming 4G and 5G services, 4. Smart Entertainment which mainly demonstrates entertainment innovation in the digital era and digital audiovisual devices and 5. Cyber Security which mainly aims to raise awareness concerning potential threats from the use of digital devices and how to prevent or handle these threats. Each zone clearly demonstrates the potential of Thailand’s communication technology and innovation.
Apart from technology exhibitions, interesting discussion forums had also been organized such as “Collaborating toward Global Economy: Opportunities and Challenges” on August 6, 2015, “Digital Technology – Global Outreach”, “Traditional TV vs Second Screen : Opportunities and Challenges”, “Telecommunication enables “Digital disruptive” a new wave challenging all industries and “Delivery Technologies and Business Models for Mobile Television Service” in order to help strengthen and open wider views among Thai entrepreneurs. Interested persons can join the sessions from August 6-9, 2015 at Ballroom, Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.
